To understand high temperature and high pressure reactors by one page

Compared with ordinary high pressure reactors, the high temperature high pressure reactors provide higher temperatures, so they are more stringent in material selection, heating system, structural design manufacture, and instruments.
High temperature and high pressure reactor is a subcategory of high pressure reactor. It additionally provides hundreds of degrees Celsius work conditions within the high pressure reactor kettle. Due to the requirements of these extreme conditions, the design and manufacture of this type of reactor requires strict compliance with the appropriate standards as well as certifications, such as ASME code certification for United States customer, CE certificate PED for European customers, and A2 certification GB code for China customers.

From the manufacturing point of view, the high temperature high pressure reactor is more stringent in material selection, heating system, structural design and manufacturing, instrumentation and other aspects.

Material selection:

1、Simply high temperature resistant

- Carbon steel.
- Stainless steel with high nickel content, such as stainless steel 309, 310.

2、With general corrosion resistance

- Stainless steel 321

3、With special corrosion resistance

- Inconel, Hastelloy, Monel, Tantalum and so on.

There is no one-size-fits-all material because the principle of material selection is both economical and applicable.

Heating System

Heating system is one of the key components of the reactor. It can use resistance wire heating, electromagnetic heating, microwave heating, external circulation jacket heating, gas heating and so on.

Structure design and manufacture

1、High sealing requirements

Use flanges that meet the pressure standard and high temperature requirement, joint welding process, the sealing of the agitator shaft sleeve selection.
Our company's independent R&D magnetic sealing coupler, can make the agitator bushing sealing form, from the dynamic sealing converted to static sealing. It can realize the sealing effect of zero leakage. It is very popular among the majority of users.

2、Insulation jacket design

In order to prevent the the operator from harming by high temperature, we add the insulation jacket outside the reactor cylinder. It makes the outer surface of the reaction kettle below 60°C during working, avoiding burns to personnel.
Therefore, the diameter of the high temperature high pressure reactor is larger compared to the general high pressure reactor.

3、Necessary cooling device

In order to meet the customer's rapid cooling requirements, we provide two solutions for the reaction kettle. 
- First, use cooling jacket. 
- Second, use internal cooling coil. 
Usually, any of the solutions can meet the customer's requirements. In some special cases, the reactor takes both solutions at the same time.

Instrumentation

1、The instruments and meters used should meet the requirements of high temperature and high pressure.
2、Choose the appropriate manufacturing process to ensure the parts' joint surface to the ports and pipeline proper. 
3、For customers with remote control requirements, we recommend the use of IoT or with analog signal output function.
4、Optional control system
Our company can provide customized PID and PLC control system for the reactor, which can realize semi-automatic and full-automatic operation of the reactor.
In addition, the application field of high pressure temperature reactor is also different from that of ordinary high pressure reactor. It can be applied in such chemical reaction should as hydrolysis, decarboxylation, ester exchange, diazotization, etc. It can also be used in the fields of high temperature synthesis of ceramics, crystallization of materials, and chemical vapor deposition.
